Morning Brief – 7:00 AM
The day begins early at Donahue’s Heating & Cooling headquarters as we gather for our morning briefing. The dispatcher hands out the day’s service assignments, and I review my schedule: three furnace inspections and one emergency heating repair in the Greensburg area.
First Call – 8:15 AM
My first stop is a routine furnace maintenance in Irwin. These preventive checks are crucial during the cold Pennsylvania winters. I inspect the heat exchanger, test safety controls, and clean vital components. A well-maintained furnace is an efficient furnace, and our customers appreciate the thorough attention to detail.
Emergency Call – 10:30 AM
The dispatcher radios in with an urgent situation in Latrobe – a family with no heat. I adjust my schedule and head there immediately. After diagnosing the issue, I discover a failed blower motor. Fortunately, our service vehicles are well-stocked with common replacement parts.
Afternoon Schedule
The rest of my day includes:
• Furnace replacement consultation in Murrysville
• Annual maintenance check in Export
• Heater installation estimate in Mount Pleasant
End of Day – 5:00 PM
Before heading back to headquarters, I complete my service reports and ensure all customers are satisfied with their heating systems. Every day brings different challenges, but keeping our community warm and comfortable makes it all worthwhile.

• Vehicle inventory assessment
